Predicting Trends

Both my final marketing subjects emphasize on predicting trends.

Its all about reacting to the situation, and adjusting your goals and objectives to these changes.

It also means a bit of guesswork, like.. England to win 3-1 early tomorrow morning.

But more importantly, we need to look out for Apple.com and your local Online store!!!!

The numbers speak for themselves.

For a product that receives a *bump* on average of half a year, you’d be a fool to buy a one year old product. It doesn’t really matter whether you get it on Day 1 or Day 364, you still pay the same freaking RM 1229 for the 16GB iPod Touch!

By 1 am (Malaysian time) the dust would have settled as to what new product Apple will be releasing. I would like to venture in to the RM 1229 price point cuz that’s the one I *hope* my dad will get me (for studies purposes)

- 32 GB Flash memory

- 3.2 MP autofocus camera with Video Recording

- GPS & Compass

That’s all I ask. But if they can make it last longer over a single power charge, the better. How about, 10 hours of WiFi surfing?

MMM… I love you Apple. I love you Steve Jobs!

Update: Steve Jobs ranked most valuable CEO!

Musi-que

Malique and Joe Flizzow back from ’98 yo!

Had good times listening to Too Phat back in high school. They really represent Malaysia, at that time. I think we should create new raps with local beats

Ok, off to cycling in Bukit Cahaya!

Funny quotes

1. “Many of these same developers applauded the “150+ new features” in Tiger and the “300 new features” in Leopard at past WWDCs. Now they were applauding zero new features for Snow Leopard? What explains this?”
[ars technica]

It says a couple of things. Firstly, Apple has such a huge lead in the features and innovation curve that they can rest on their laurels while Win 7 plays catch up (Redmond, start your photocopiers!)

But more importantly, the focus is now on tapping into the dual, quad and octo (Mac Pro) core processors in the computers and make commmon tasks run smoother. Traditionally, Apple Operating Systems have to support two different core architecture. During the 90s Macintosh G3 era, they had to support to old Motorolla processors in older Macs. Prior to 10.6, they run both on G4/G5 as well as Intel chips. Now 10.6 is fully 64 bit (address more than 4GB RAM among other advantages), and fully Intel.

3. Highlighting a thought I hear from somewhere : “smoking doesn’t kill. its the underlying diseases one might have! i’ve seen PERFECTLY healthy 80 year olds who smoke like chimney. Same with H1N1, you don’t really die from that. Keyword: underlying diseases.”

4. How can you NOT be excited about an Apple music event on 10 September (M’sia time)? The messiah Steve Jobs should be presenting. And “one more thing” this time around will be the new iProd 1,1 featuring… widescreen touchscreen PSP-esque device running iPhone OS for under RM 2,500? [source]
