In the morning…
Hey, a dude’s got the right to be sentimental once in a while. He may be cool and calm on the outside, but inside, he is making imaginary somersaults in his heart.
Here’s one from the Postal Service – Be Still My Heart
I was running late for work
So I didn’t change my shirt
The evening’s drinks left a lingering taste in my mouth
And when I left
You were fast asleep
Tangled in the sheets
And on the bus I could have sworn it was all a dream
And it didn’t happen to meAnd then I felt the scrapes
From the slippery subway grate.
Oh how you laughed
At my complete lack of grace.
But I could not recall
A more perfect fall
Cause when I looked up into your eyes
It didn’t hurt at all.And I thought, be still my heart
This could be a brand new start, with you.
And it will be clear
If I wake up and you’re still here with me in the morning. And I thought, be still my heart
This could be a brand new start, with you.
And it will be clear
If I wake up and you’re still here with me in the morning.
For a small fee of S$23 a month, you can catch all 380 matches to the Barclay EPL on Mio TV, an IPTV technology via the Internet.
So starting nest BPL season, if you have starhub and ESPN and its Soccer Saturday, expect “normal regular programming” like in other cable operators who didn’t win the rights.
Yupp, BPL rights are very very expensive. The Football Association (the FA) is smart. They don’t just sell the rights to one particular channel (Eg. ESPN), but they sell it to the Channel and on top of that, each country must BID for the rights if there are challengers.
In Singapore, that “bully” is Singtel. Equipped with the pure cash people are throwing at them for the iPhone 3GS (which is a smart move), they launched an audacious bid of S$400 mil across 3 seasons for the exclusive rights.
ASTRO Malaysia got away with half that despite rumors of TM bidding for it.
Lose money on one product, gain market share (units and percentage) as a result. When you kill your opponents, then you overcharge and become the monopoly. I heard of this book, Sun Tzu “Art of War”. I’m sure this strategy is in there, somewhere.
Its a free world. As consumers, we expect a free market where competition drives prices down and innovation higher. It is exciting to see how Starhub reacts. Starhub initiated the “one second billing” scheme which leveled the playing ground and encroached Singtel’s phone and mobile phone services. When you prod the lion of Singapore, we can expect a catfight.
It amazes me to see a country of 6 million population able to have such stiff competition, such great products and interestingly such level of technological advancement. With the vast resources we have in Malaysia, we should be ashamed.
Blast, its 4am and my housemate thinks a RED Saga was mine and he needs his 4am breakfast. Woke everyone in the house cuz a car double-parked outside. Stupiak.
Note: This is not an endorsement of the book, “Politicians say the darnest things!”
Seriously, damn funny lah!
We all know what he’s doing in the “hotel”!
We gotta give credit to the man.
But here are the other top 3 quotes I like from all the fiasco.
1. “I’m still what I’m, did you see any expression of shock?” – Ong. They should play Poker Face song lah!
2. When asked would he step down, Ong said, “It will be decided by the CC.” Question is, will it be Blitz Zone, or Asia Cafe?
3. “In the event that both are voted out, two members of the central committee would be appointed to replace them while their positions (in the CC) will be filled by ordinary party members,” said MCA secretary-general Wong Foon Meng. There’s also talk of the Third Force…. mmmm.. some mystical creature!
Any Chinese-ed students care to explain the flowery poetry used by these peeps?
January 2010, Apple Press Conference. Here’s how it will go.

I’m not sure who said this, could be Jay-Z during the rapper’s pre-song rant.
“WASTED talent, man!”
Two stories I wanna share with you.
1. A lot of people go online, go to the forums, and rant about how sucky our society has become. We lament the increasing crime rates, and how our society has deteriorated macam 3rd world country. We blame the cops for bribery, we blame the government for wastage of funds, we accuse politicians of doing shit that might not be true, but we hear these stories from some of our “close circles” and distort the facts beyond the truth. I can imagine that if one day I become politician and say I wanna bom KL the local SWAT team will come pick me up when in actual fact I need to excrete fecal matter.
We think we have the answers to everything; a solution to every problem. A friend’s Lambo broke down. All of a sudden, there’s 10 mechanical engineers on site instructing what he should do. Some gives half-truths, some make REALLY good stories and some just want to give in their 2 sen and rub shoulders with the rich kid. When a friend have a headache, then we have 10 doctors on site. All the time, guaranteed.
When doctors give advise, they are liable to be sued if the misdiagnose. They are very petulant and careful when checking out the patient. Same with Lambo engineers, its million ringgit cars we’re talking about.
But when a friend gives you advise….. ??
And that’s story number one.
2. There is a Google UK beatbox video more commonly known as “sickest shit you’ll ever see”.
As I watched it again, I look down and lo-and-behold I was wearing my black Google shirt. Man… I really gotta get myself hooked up to the Google-world. Best place to work in the world, until they cancel their European ski trip, which bump them down to 4th best place to work :P hahaha….
The guys at Google are indeed talented. The organisation is as respected as it is today because of its workers and the work ethics. Whatever roles they are playing, however miniscule it may be, it gels together and makes up a one big master piece that we see at http://google.com
One of my problems is that I’m opinionated. I like to take opium.
Ok, not really. I like to get my voice heard. In the past it has got me into trouble, serious trouble. Asians in general are not ready to hear harsh words even if its the truth. In our world, feeling are more important than, say, progress, or human advancement. That’s how it worked, and that’s how it generally is. It seems to be working, if we look at China, Japan, Hong Kong and dare I say, Singapore.
But lets face it. We still don’t have the fun work environment like in the UK or US. Either that or, our boss expect his employees to enjoy the Britney song “I’m a Slave 4 U!”
One of my best memories was in high school. A friend moved to a international school in form 2, and came back in form 4 to visit. The first thing I said when I saw her in the canteen is, “Hey! You’re so fat!!!”. At least 20 people heard it, thank GOD she took it lightly. But yes… just saying lah.
Today’s sermon is: Yes, you are talented. If you think you don’t have a talent, you are not yet tapping into the one big thing that will eventually make you rich and famous. But with great powers come great responsibilities. Be accountable for your advise, and be cautious that whatever you say things that will affect your friends decision. Getting your point across is one thing. Forcing it down his throat, against his beliefs or previous pre-conceptions and understandings? Well, that’s abit dangerous. And it requires a bit of thinking as to whether your words are:
1. beneficial
2. relevant
3. SMART (systematic, measurable, attainable, realistic, timeframe)

I got a couple of friends waiting for the 3GS (or have gotten it). Good for you =) I’m kinda jealous…
chicagobreakingnews.com — Three out of 10 people said they’d give up sex for a year rather than give up their mobile phones, according to a recent online survey.
But these studies are flawed. Sure, many prefer sex over brushing their teeth. But would you stop brushing teeth for 1 year for a phone? If you study the participants of the survey, you got to see what phones they are using. Those 3 probably won’t get laid much anyway!
Remember the Pirate Bay? Its the one source for truly good shit, shit that you cannot find on Mininova or torrentz.com
The Pirate Bay is going on a road trip through Europe, one they hope to end today in a former NATO bunker. After a move from Sweden to the Ukraine, The Pirate Bay has now arrived at CyberBunker, an ISP that can provide them with a facility that can resist a nuclear attack as well as electromagnetic pulse bombs.
Nice PR stunt. Who wants to pool money to buy server space on that ISP? Then we can advertise our blogs as Holocaust / 2012 proof! Wootzah!!!!
Happy birthday Tay Jia Yi!

BULLETIN — EARTHQUAKE SHAKES BUILDINGS IN TAIWAN.
At 1am today, it happened.
So, how does it affect an average Ahmad, Ah Kaw, and Mutu?
1. Computer components / Tech gadgets might see price increase. Memory, hard disk, at least 10% increase over the next 2 weeks.
2. When Taiwan sneezes, the whole world catches a cold. We are over dependent on Technology.
3. Last but not least, my favourite Taiwanese sausages in Pasar Malam????? wa-wa- waaaaa……… :P
On a related note, its fun studying Geology and earthquakes. Will talk about my tremor experience while living in a 15 storey apartment in Penang once upon a time!
Lastly,
You know its a Scouser writing that Soccernet commentary!
Meh, I think Arsenal and Liverpool will win big tomorrow.
You know the pinching, pinch out, rotate gestures on the iPhone / Touch … and the Macbook’s two finger swipe, three finger, and dare I say, FOUR finger gestures on the trackpad?
Well, Apple has patented TWO HANDS multitouch technology which describes an apparatus to do things in Sci-Fi movies.
Gotta love the Patent’s department drawings ;)
[source: Mac Rumors]
When software used to interprete the gestures have matured, be exited for the endless possibilities.
For one I can think of, you can actually use the Wii Remote as demonstrated [here - Youtube] to read what you’re gesturing on a wall.
On a related Apple note, the 8GB version has dropped to US$49 with a 2 year plan. Question is, why are we charged RM 2500 here in Malaysia when the American pricepoints are US 199/299 with contract and in UK, you get it free with 40 pounds plan?
