Importance of exercise

Every morning, I make it a point to do at least 2,000 metres of walking. I walk around the SS15 Subang Area, smile at people and greet them “Good Morning!”. It is nice to see the morning buzzing activity, when shops open, mothers come out to market to buy their food, old people and their old things, and the office crowd cerita-ing about their last night happenings.
I haven’t been playing badminton or bowling for some time now. Will try to go Futsal on Monday night (hint: new shoes) and Badminton the following day. Exam period now for UniSA, so not surprising that activity has dropped a notch.
One activity I have been doing is, pool (billiards). Played with Melvyn, and Yang Wei on separate occasions. There is a competition at Asia Cafe as we speak (now, 10am) but with a Strategy exam tomorrow I can’t afford to risk it.
I must talk about the hotly contested broadband market in Malaysia. With the RM 500/year tax rebate for broadband uptake, suddenly, the telcos (Digi, Celcom, Maxis) are all hot in the game. There was a Digi promo in 1 Utama shopping complex with RM 2000 blackberries going for under Rm 500 with a RM 58 plan. Insane. Maxis also got lah, and with their iPhone monopoly, their coffers are pretty huge.

Performance on the Digi 3G internet has been satisfactory, it was awsm when it started but has been downgraded. It still has 3.5G speeds (HSDPA) but guess I’ve grown accustomed to the speedy Streamyx and Digi’s initial bursts, that the gain has been not so much, noticable. Oh yes, my Google Maps with Sat. pix loads like instantly when it usually took 10-15 secs on “traditional 3G”. To quantify it, I’d say, 80ms / 700kbit performance compared to Streamyx’s 30 ms / 1300kbit speeds.
yup, in line with tradition, I bought myself a basic Adidas the 3 stripes shoes. The old pair was size 10, now its a tighter 9. The old pair undergone some torture during Couz Camp this year at El Santuary (having to cross a knee deep stream!!)
The AirAsia free tickets thing was huge. Servers crawled to standstill. I think they’ll be hiring Database optimisers to better handle the occasional surge in traffic. I didn’t get any, don’t want to make too much advanced plans. My exams end 26th November 2009 and I really want to start working immediately. Will get the “letters” out ASAP, God willing, I will get that dream job in Penang :)
I hear there’s a blogging competition thing at Pavillion. @radianceleong was spamming on Twitter to garner support. Of course her man won! Imagine locked in a cage / aquarium in a busy shopping mall and all you do is to blog about it! Fun PR exercise, I must say.
Seems that November onwards is a busy period for PR / Advertising / Promotional activities. I think since a company accumulate so much profits, might as well use ‘em up to avoid tax. I think I need to come up with a product that these rich mid 20s to early 40s need. Bonus = money = profits for any business!
Listening to SIB KL’s Breathtaking album. I got a 3.5mm audio adapter, and a Y-cable (Red-white) to 3.5mm… so technically I can play these songs on the Club 9 audio system (lol…) I notice that the audio is out of sync in some parts, the vocals are too fast. I guess they were rushing for the deadline (15th Aniversary). Its a shame, because the instruments were awesome.
Melvyn will be going back Singapore soon. He has his contact and will probably start work immediately if he chooses to. Kathryn seems to be having fun at KC. And Lukas is with Mattel. Maybe first half of 2010, I’ll lay the groundworks for Phailed Networks Sdn Bhd.. or something Phailed! Sell computer parts, services, give business advise, internet service and troubleshooting, trend analysis, ADVERTISING & PROMOTION, mmm.. endless possibilities!!!
Stay tuned.
Yang Wei’s birthday this Saturday? Will go for Thai food? Carl’s might not be nice anymore.
There’s this thing about indecisiveness which I find interesting. When choosing which restaurants to go to, people (girls especially) would say “no, no no” to almost everything, but they don’t have any good suggestions of where to go! It has been concluded that:
“They don’t know where they want to go, but they know where they DON’T want to go!”
Same with almost every other decisions they make, right?? :)
