iPod stuck on replay

February 11th, 2010  |  Published in Blog

I had an iPod 30G 5th generation as a birthday gift years ago. I sold it off.

I had an iPhone 2nd generation (the one where they reduced price from $599 to $399, yes, I got it at $399). I sold it off.

Upon refletion, I wonder why I did it!

Shawty´s like a melody in my head
That I can´t keep out
Got me singin´ like
Na na na na everyday
It´s like my iPod stuck on replay replay-ay-ay-ay

This song really talks about my obsession with pop hit songs and how the digital music revolution has make me obsessed! For example, lyrics to Eminem, I hit replay on my iTunes and it goes on and on and on! Back in the CD days, it was already there but seldom used. Worst still, if on Cassette tape, to get to Track 3 would be a pain in the ass. Kinda like how Mika finds it in his video “We are Golden”

Well, Chinese New Year festivities are about to begin. KL will be once again peaceful. Imagine racing at 120 km/h in Bkt Bintang or Chow Kit area in mid day? (J/k pak polisi!!)

As for me, I’d like to clear up the mess in my room. And send in that application to Public Bank.

Google Buzz is quite nice, give it a try!

Aston Villa v Man Utd tonight

February 10th, 2010  |  Published in Blog

Here’s the standing

RK TEAM P W D L GS GA GD Pts
2 Manchester United 25 18 2 5 61 20 41 56
7 Aston Villa 24 11 8 5 31 18 13 41

Aston Villa is a mid table team who has made big impressions on top clubs. Just look at their secret to success, the “Goals Against”. Leaking only 18 goals after 24 games, now that’s seriously solid defensive teamwork. Keeping teams at 0-0 deadlocks are their specialty, and there’s a good chance that will happen at Villa Park tonight.

Manchester United is in good form as of late. With a healthy +41 Goal Difference, on paper it should be an easy win THIS time around.

While Arsenal and Liverpool do battle tonight, if you want to see the champions play against a good defensive team playing good technical football, watch the Man United match. For those who want to watch the hype, the passion and physical fast-paced game, watch the “other” match. For the rest, just have a good night’s sleep because your colleagues will be talking about it. Oh yes, wear RED on Thursday. You won’t go wrong.

Malaysian Elections 2010?

February 9th, 2010  |  Published in Blog

Ok, this is very speculative. But pending a Federal court ruling, Perak could see snap elections. Go get yourselves registered to vote if you haven’t so and you’re over 21!

I just got one simple request.

IF you do not have a party you wish to support, why not spoil your vote purposefully? Tick both a ruling and opposition parties. Your vote would count as a spoilt vote. There are people who genuinely believe in a Barisan National cause and of course, there are really gung-ho opposition supporters. The beauty of democracy is that the best educated or charismatic person and the least educated person in the country gets one equal vote.

At the end of the day, the right man for the job will win. At the same time, your voice will be heard through the spoilt votes, and that politics and politicians is bullshit!

What do you think?

*Note: In Malaysia, to select the party you want, place a cross ( X ) next to the candidate of your choice.

OH, I wrote a short paragraph about my strengths for a job application. Pardon the vanity :)

I have a good eye for detail. Often times I spend time to reflect on what has happened throughout my day. I can pinpoint errors that I have made and see things through other people’s perspective. I am tolerant, and patient in most dealings with people. I enjoy sports like board games, bowling, billiard (pool) and badminton. Playing these sports help me cultivate a steady hand, cool head and social skills, stamina and endurance and more importantly, learning how to lose with grace. Throughout university life, I learn to work individually as well as in groups. My lecturers sing high praises of my work ethics and communication skills despite my average academic results. I get along well with my peers. Independence and good awareness are my biggest strengths. I can figure out a mass transport system or bus service within hours of exploring the area I am in. I like to take chances and I am more able to handle setbacks and rejection. I enjoy reading the latest news around the world especially technology related ones. I love music which gives me a rhythm and tempo to pace myself to complete tasks.

Let’s talk Music

February 4th, 2010  |  Published in Blog

Do you know what my two favourite bands “The Polyphonic Spree” and “DJ Mangoo” have in common?

Have a listen:

Polyphonic Spree

Mangoo

Well, they both use play French Horn in their songs.

DJ Mangoo’s rendition is synthesized, while The Polyphonic Spree actually blows this thing! That’s not the only common denominator. I find that I really really like upbeat songs, no matter what the lyrics say, spanning across different genres and cultures.

By the end of the year, I wish to be in possession of a Korg Koassilator 2010 “noise box”. It is for those who are too lazy to learn the drum beats, the guitar rifts and the piano keys, but still want to make melodious music!

I went to Owl City’s wiki page, and he was using a Macbook Pro hooked up to some Korg devices and synths. I was .. deeply in awe! One man show producing such great music. The Postal Service is good too, with their Such Great Heights song. But I got 2 songs stuck in my head:

The Rolling Stones – Colors

Polyphonic Spree – Hanging Around

I was watching a documentary about Black Holes where astrophysicist talked about the theory of the big (the heavens and gravity) and theory of the small (atoms / energy) with totally contradicting laws.. and black holes just sits in between! There’s this one equation which the solution works out to be the summation of infinities!!!

Ok enough of geek talk. Lets have a good, good weekend ahead!!! What are you up to?

This year, I will be supporting the Mercedes GP headed by Ross Brawn starring Nico Rosberg and 7 time world champion, Michael “pembuat kasut” Schumacher.

This morning as I was surfing the Formula 1 website [link] I saw that I, the pippo, was at the center of the team! Here’s proof!

Forza Doit-ch-land!

And Happy 2nd Birthday to nephew, Gabriel Wong!
