Europe Super League

A while ago, there was chatter about forming a Super Europe League, with top teams in Europe come and compete in a League Format. The creme de la creme, will play a 20 team league system.

There were some issues like money, TV rights and how it would screw up the local league. But I’m a firm believer of this idea. If Formula 1 can have multi-national teams playing throughout a season, I don’t see why the football circus and clowns can’t formally agree to a Super League of heavyweights.

This format will be a level above the domestic leagues. We make it brutal.

5 English teams (United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, 5th team)

4 Spanish teams (Real Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, +1 more)

3 Italian teams (Internazionale, AS Roma, AC Milan)

3 French teams (Marseille, Lyon + 1 more)

2 Scottish teams (Rangers, Celtic)

3 playoff spots comprised of 2 representatives each from the 5 countries.

Then you have a table list of 20 teams, top 10 in the Europe Super League will keep their places the following season, while its even stevens for the rest as they need to be top, as the quota is filled by respective countries.

There will be Home and Away

Big matches every week!

Champions’ League disbanded. Top teams play less football, more time to rest and recover. So that every game is top quality stuff.

As added bonus, the reserves teams for these clubs have a mini-league of their own. I will suspect this will be huge for the youngsters as they gain VALUABLE experience across Europe. Think of all the poaching problems they’ll solve. So a mini-league will see the likes of Macheda, Gibson, Welback and other fringe players have a shot at Europe!

What do you think? Feedback / comments appreciated.
