25 December Christmas Day :)

26 December

FOOD & Football

Had Bak Kut Teh, also Penang Asam Laksa and Duck Meat Koay Teow Soup. Very nice.

Football at night also very nice. Malaysia won 3-0, with the help of lasers. I think at one point the guys were laughing cause Twitter trended the term #Malaysialasercheat … hillarious.

27 December

TRAIN RIDE was good. I’m in Ipoh now. We’re 1 hour behind due to delayed train going North. NO worries, cuz all the way to Ipoh it’s double tracked. According to schedule, it’ll take about 3 hours only. So not too worried. A tad hungry tho. Let’s go to the “Canteen / Buffet car” on board this train! Oh, and I found Karaoke on board as well!

Next few days will be tense. Cuz I need to find a new place, and need to move out!

See you in 2011 and watch out for my awesome podcasts on Youtube :)

Christmas With The Family

December 25th, 2010  |  Published in Blog

It’s been a while since we had Christmas celebrations in Bukit Mertajam, Penang.

The festivities are amazing :) It’s a different feeling from city life. Having so many people gathered in the village is pretty awesome.

But first, here’s the paper diary log:

22/23 December

24 December

That’s Samuel Khor, son of brother Alex! Had a good time at Bukit Mertajam Baptist Church. Fun filled family entertainment, and praising God with a full-house church auditorium. Good fellowship, good fun with the dance!

25 Dec 2010

Christmas day. Instead of Jesus, we went to see Guan Yin at Kek Lok Si Temple, Penang!

RM 4 cable car / horizontal lift.. very crowded… that Ayer Itam area very jam. Later, went to Penang for buffet lunch at Gurney Hotel!

Tonight we’ll have a sit down family dinner. Ahh.. peace, quiet, and away from the masses! Have a good weekend, ya’ll!

Wednesday Is Here

Monday Notes

Tuesday

I fall on my ass. It was slippery, there were 4 steps from the side exit. My worn-out Crocs failed me epicly. It didn’t hurt, I was somewhat balanced. Luckily my laundry didn’t get dirty, cuz Christmas is around the corner!

My Post-Crossing adventures

I’ve gotten about 34 postcards from all around the world. Most of them comes from Europe.

I hope to be more active on this project. I get some amazing raw data and statistics about how many days it takes for snail mail.

22 December (Wednesday) 1 a.m post

Witnessed an accident… N0 one was hurt. But “back up” and “kay pohs” gathered in NO time. The tow truck with walkies were there almost instantly. According to friends, they get a big ass commission for every “tow”. Everyone gets a lucrative cut from the mishap of another!

In church, we danced. Amy came back from Japan, Adele also came up from K.L. it was like a party. The little kids are hard to manage, and the rottan was brought out many times. It had little to NO effect whatsoever.

You know, I always joked that we should… “electricute the heart, to give slowpokes a jolt”. When people don’t pick up handphones / put it to silent, we need that option. Another torture I really like to see happen, is like the TV series 24 where the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) electrocute the nipples of terror suspects!

I think I better get some sleep.

ENFP (Myers Briggs)

December 20th, 2010  |  Published in Blog

Last week I went for an interview. They gave us a personality test, actually a couple of psychology related tests.

One of them, I came out with this results: ENFP

Extraversion, iNtuition, Feelings, Perception [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ENFP]

Myers-Briggs description

ENFPs are initiators of change, keenly perceptive of possibilities. They energize and stimulate others through their contagious enthusiasm. They prefer the start-up phase of a project or relationship, and are tireless in the pursuit of new-found interests. ENFPs are able to anticipate the needs of others and to offer them needed help and appreciation. They bring zest, joy, liveliness, and fun to all aspects of their lives. They are at their best in fluid situations that allow them to express their creativity and use their charisma. They tend to idealize people, and can be disappointed when reality fails to fulfill their expectations. They are easily frustrated if a project requires a great deal of follow-up or attention to detail.

Keirsey descriptions

Champions delight in novelty. They are optimistic, enthusiastic, and vivacious, craving expressions of strong emotion. With a dramatic flair, they share their experiences with others, hoping to reveal some universal truth or win others over in support of a cause. Attuned to possibilities, Champions scan their environment, probing the emotions, needs, and motivations of others. This sensitivity sometimes conflicts with their intense drive for personal authenticity. Spontaneous and personable, they attract others to their company

The Four Temperaments

temperament

Another test shows these two dominating traits:

* Sanguine - A super extrovert, the social type who will promise the world to make friends.
* Choleric - A dominant, strong and decisive personality that centers on getting things done by whatever means.

For this questionnaire, I had 20 positive attributes and 20 negative attributes to choose from. What amazed me was that, on the positive column, I was all over the board. I also had qualities describing “Melancholy” and “Phlegmatic”.

But on the other column, the negative column makes things very apparent. I saw my “true colours” staring back at me. All twenty were marked on ONLY Sanguine and Choleric negative qualities.

I like to think I’m somewhat soft & emotional. But the head inside me isn’t willing to admit. Either that or I’ve grown out of it! Yippie? :)

3 days to Christmas

December 22nd, 2009  |  Published in Blog

Yesterday night, I went pool with Kate, Jamie and Joey. They were expecting Pat, but Pip showed up instead. Boy, were they disappointed! lol.

The nice people at Club 9 gave us free buffet dinner for their 1st Anniversary. Safe to say, we clocked in hundreds of cumulative hours “working” there (on our pool skills, of course!). Ahh, the good times, of waiting til the wee hours in the morning for “promises of a free laptop, motorbike, what else?”

Taylor’s graduation will be 31 Jan 2010. The UniSA peeps won’t be doing it with us :( instead we at UTS are paired up with guys from Foundation and Diploma. Wonder how that will pan out!

I overheard them saying that its Chinese Christmas soon: December 22nd is a big occassion for many Chinese homes. It is celebrated with the making of tongyuen (cantonese), tangyuen (Mandarin) or kueh ee (Hokkien dialect). In the olden days, the grandmothers are very strict with the making of tongyuen.

During our session just now, it was funny to hear Kate’s dream wedding would include the Wedding Entrance Dance [Chris Brown - Forever]! lol. Just curious to hear other girl’s wedding dreams. Me? 3 options:

A – Garden party, buffet style where whole kampung shows up, cham cha, the end. kthxbie we off to manchester for huneymoon!

B – Traditional Chinese event at restaurant / hotel, do it 2nd time at “her” town. Objective: Make parents / relatives happy.

C – via the Internet… get 100s of ppl to come “online”, do it via video, .. then Catan and Monopoly at a good Mc Donald’s restaurant! Then of course, air lifted via helicopter.

Let’s do something crazy today! Coney Tuesday, Mr. Koay?

Here to put a smile on your face! 20th birthday at Shamla’s place at Old Klang Rd. Rushed back from Penang (2 box of Him Heang P’neah as evidence)

Dad making arrangements for me in Vietnam back in ’06 :) WOOHOO!!!!

As we commemorate Princess of Wales, Diana’s 12′s Anniversary this Merdeka, I think its appropriate to put Lady Gaga’s Paparazzi [lyrics] to be number 1 on the Top 40 charts.

Good night ya’ll !! The weekend is almost here!
