Ok, for tonight’s big clash against Arsenal, I’m predicting a nice whooping!

I told you so

August 16th, 2009  |  Published in Blog

I like to predict stuff, and you can imagine how happy I am when my prediction came true this morning!

ballz

Tonight’s prediction, Man Utd to draw …

Last night’s numbers

Stamford Bridge (41,597)
Goodison Park (39,309)
Villa Park (35,578)
Ewood Park (29,584)
Molineux Stadium (28,674)
Britannia Stadium (27,385)
Fratton Park (17,510)

Tonight, Old Trafford will have 46% more than the highest turnout last night. At 76,000, it will only be 3/4 of what we had in Bukit Jalil last month (100,000 est).

Support for a football club is measured in the number of fans. If you wanna talk passion, you will lose. Because an organisation I know has relatively fewer numbers, but their followers are bloody passionate about their cause.

They call themselves Al-Qaedah.

Its a bookies game

August 10th, 2009  |  Published in Blog

Before I comment on the events at Nikko Hotel, I’d like to address the Chelsea – Man Utd game last night.

It was a charity game, an exhibition match. Which idiot would want to commit 100% and risk getting injured before the season proper even kick start?

United fans shouldn’t resort to weak excuses such as “Ballack should be sent off”, “The cup is worth nothing”, et cetera. In the words of a Scouser I know, for Man United this game was for “Testing, nia..”

That said, I still believe the words of a Singaporean gambler that football matches are pre-determined by bookies. The betting market goes into the billions of USD worldwide on good matches. If both Chelsea and Man United get a small cut, it would surely help them in their January transfer window, for example and of course help Man United to pay off their huge debt.

We cannot deny the superiority and threat that Chelsea pose to Man United for all 4 honours we are both chasing for. Right now, the crazy Russian is planning ahead for some Christmas arsenal reinforcements. We can’t buy now thanks to the idiots in Madrid and across town who inflated the market to astronomical Football Manager 2009-esque prices.

Manchester United and Chelsea will have to play the waiting game in the transfer market. They will also have to have a “Williams Sisters Arrangement (WSA)” where, “Oh, you won Wimbledon last year. Let me win Australian Open now!”.

This season promises to be better than ever before. All four clubs are weakened. We shouldn’t be alarmed of the results of the first month or two. It is not how fast you start but how strong you finish.

Oh, one more thing.

Manchester United Asia Tour 2009

July 17th, 2009  |  Published in Blog

Manchester United Asia Tour 2009

The champions of England, ex-champions of Europe and champions of the WORLD will be playing in Bukit Jalil, Kula Lumpur on the 18th July 2009. For the lucky few who got the training pass (well, 50,000 of us actually) we’ll see our heroes perform magic on the field at 5pm today.

Going with Yew Hui and Lukas Foo.

There are 3 ways to follow the action (from 3:00 – 7:00pm 17 July 2009)

1. Follow us on twitter @lukasfoo and @philipkhor and I believe @radianceleong is going too.

2. Live Video stream on Qik [link] 5pm onwards

3. Photo Stream every 15 minutes [link]

Exciting Day ahead!!!

Word of the day:

A dossier is typically a briefing paper based on an individual of interest in police or intelligence circles. They generally contain a relevant biography, most current information on activities and any special information of interest to the agency, such as having training in various specialized fields (e.g. assassination techniques or money laundering contacts). When the target in question has retired or died, or is of no further interest, the dossier is generally filed away for reference. If the information contained inside or the identity of the person is too sensitive, the dossier is destroyed along with all records of it.

Man Utd Asia Tour Ticket

June 2nd, 2009  |  Published in Blog

Ah, finally, my supplier from MyManUtd forum / Lowyat got his supply of RM 98 tickets. With training pass.

I found out my current ones (also for Lukas and Yew Hui) are the green entrance. I guess they’re the “premium” one.. its as good as sitting at the Stretfort End.. only its in the middle of the huge stadium. Great view.

The only caviet is that there are 2 tiers, 1 and 2. So I wanna camp at 8am onwards to get the nearer tier 1 seats. Anyone with me?Green Gate

Scratch that. I’ll camp from Friday night… play Catan, socialise and Network with fellow Man Utd fans. Cuz I bet they’re as fanatic to line up to get as CLOSE as you can to the action.

Big HA! HA! To Yong Kang for buying RM 308 tickets. But yes, you get to see Fergie chew his gum and closer to the VIPs. Action wise, its 90% the same :) hehehehe.. Yeah, I’m just jealous lah :)

Champions League Bingo

May 28th, 2009  |  Published in Blog

What a night it has been.

We lost. They were the better team, good job Barca. Good bye CR7.

I had Advertising presentation at 10am that day, and we only got started like, 9:15am or something, at the Mezanine floor. It wasn’t 100% great, but we met like.. 80% of the requirements, good enough for a pass, possibly a Credit.

Slept like a pig til 8:30pm and went for gym. The mamak at Carrefour had  a blackout whilst having 20-30 customers. It was interesting to note their “crisis management” and I learnt a thing or two about management.

Tomorrow is bowling day. Also it is Networking Fundamentals assignment due date. Gotta put the pieces together like I always do, add salt and pepper and package it up in a nice envelope. Presentation, and first impressions are super important, so gotta put in more effort on that.

My Chinese Name is Khor Hock Khoon. In Mandarin, its Fu Kun. In Hokkien its Hock Khoon. In Kantonese its Fook Kin. In Angmoh, its Foo Goon. In Arabic, its Fuuuh Hooon.

The first character means: tax; give; endow; army; diffuse
The second character means: descendant; elder brother

So, either I’m:

- Army’s descendent / elder brother

- I deffuse my descendants / elder brother

- I TAX them (?)

- I give them (?)

I think I need to ask you Sifu Cina (yes Yap and Wilson and Darrel, I’m referring to you) to give me a sound and logical explanation.

This weekend I’ll be attending a Students Leadership Summit at Pan Pacific KLIA. Dress code is extremely formal, so I hope I don’t disregard and disrespect any protocol. Deep in my heart I wanna dress up as a Sheikh and a white-on-white robe complete with headgear. What do you think?

I flopped quads. Too bad I had 2000 chips left. Should have reloaded.

#Man Utd Mission Accomplished

mission-accomplished

Although my prediction is still abit off, (regarding United to win the Premiership by now).. we just need 1 point from 2 games. The bad news is we’re facing Arsenal. The good news is the last game would be at Hull City. We WILL be crowned in Kingston Communications Stadium. But I feel we deserve to reward the Old Trafford faithfuls by putting on a good show in the Theatre of Dreams by beating Arsenal.

Meh.

My Telephone line is fixed and I got a tone. But my Streamyx is not yet up. They need to physically “jump the port” at the box near my house. Looks like its another 1-2 days. Damn inefficient lah.

Oh, I received my MSI motherboard, socket 775, support latest Core 2 Duo and Quad Core, basic functions. Bought at RM 220, Retails now for RM 180, I sell you RM 140 best price.

On 12th, it was Teachers’ Day in Taylors UC. The response for “write a note” didn’t go out that well, so the Council had to “compromise”. I still stand by my Twitter / micro-blogging idea which can be carried out in all computer labs / laptops around campus simultaneously. That way, people are interested in technology, and it would be easy, fast, indexable, searchable and printable.

I went to Segambut for Seafood Noodle Lunch Ai Yu. From Segambut KTM station, it is about 600 metres, but it was damn hot.

Luckily we shared taxi with a lady from Melaka. I told her, “hey, its only 600m, lets walk lah!”. She said, “I cannot walk”; as if she’s lame. I walked 200 metres, and a taxi pulled up. She called me to go in. The fare was RM 3, she only offered to pay RM 1.

For the next big event, I don’t want to take part at all. I will instead be the analyst. I will look for problems throughout the organisation of the event, so that the event I’m planning in the future will go smoothly. Of course I’m not self-fish. I will publish the report on my blog of the shortcomings and what else could be done better lah.

Went to lookout point yesterday. Had Gasoline, and went to Taman Connaught Pasar Malam to meet Patrick’s “friend” :)

Today is Thursday. It is Advertising day! One of my favourite subjects; where it is relevant, and useful in business. The assignment is due Friday, so I guess no outing for me today. Pat is suppose to come meet me for breakfast at around 7am? See if he makes it.

Live long and prosper. @thepippo
