Aim is to raise money for charity (education in rural Kedah)

Aim is to gather . Influential Penang tweeter users and meet up in real life.

Here are some thoughts in my head:

Twestival Penang 2012
1. Get yes4g to come
2. Spend 100gb in 4 hours (5-8pm) pay to charity.
3. 50 mbit/sec available to use
4. Finger food+ tent + power + transport + beer
5. Tweet in the jungle!
6. We pay for your use challenge! YTL pays for your usages.
7. Gathering of tweeter users from Kulim, Bukit mertajam, prai, butter worth and anyone out of town

Event finish at 8pm before proceed to auto city for after-party / proper boozing, etc. just 30 min away via Butterworth Kulim highway.

It has been one week since we landed in Kg. Tun Sardon near Lunas!

The clouds have been hanging, but rain has been smattering at best.

Our clothes are drying, and our plans have not yet been disrupted. Thank God!

Uncle Joel (@joelelim), Beng Seong & Dad carry the same dinosaur 20 year old bible.

It’s NIV, it’s super thick, and have additional bonus material (maps, etc)

Went for a walk at Penang Botanical Garden.

Dad took the RM 2 ride around the park. We visited the lily pond.

Bukit Mertajam’s best cendol. RM 1.60 now, inflation.

We had durian earlier at Balik Pulau. It was RM 12 / kg so we paid RM 30 for 2 biji.

This one is from BM Market (near Tua Pek Kong). Rm 6/kg, 4 biji for RM 33

Some were nice, but the smell wasn’t good. The taste okay lah.

Today is 1st February already. Another 2 more days to Chinese Lunar new year. And tomorrow is the Reunion dinner. Tonight we will learn how to cook Kilac. It is a curry of green leafs, slightly bitter but rectified with generous amounts of santan, ikan bilis and some belacan. It tastes like heaven!

Gonna help plan out the dinner menu, perhaps start a charcoal fire outside for the Salted Vegetable soup with “generous amounts of pork”, and more pork based dishes! Sinful, but ok!

Mark: You’re right. The good shit is “zhu yaw char”. In most Penang foods, either pig oil or pork lard is heavily used to make the food good. Hokkien Mee 222 when we’re back!

FOOD & Football

Had Bak Kut Teh, also Penang Asam Laksa and Duck Meat Koay Teow Soup. Very nice.

Football at night also very nice. Malaysia won 3-0, with the help of lasers. I think at one point the guys were laughing cause Twitter trended the term #Malaysialasercheat … hillarious.

27 December

TRAIN RIDE was good. I’m in Ipoh now. We’re 1 hour behind due to delayed train going North. NO worries, cuz all the way to Ipoh it’s double tracked. According to schedule, it’ll take about 3 hours only. So not too worried. A tad hungry tho. Let’s go to the “Canteen / Buffet car” on board this train! Oh, and I found Karaoke on board as well!

Next few days will be tense. Cuz I need to find a new place, and need to move out!

Be prepared to do some scrolling. At the Top Right corner is Kg. Tun Sardon. Bottom Right, Bukit Mertajam. That is where I grew up for 8 years.

As you can see from this Google Maps capture, it is only 20 km away from the center of the Penang bridge. Not too far, right? :)

Have a happy halloween. Too bad my idea of dressing up as a shiekh (middle eastern rich businessman style) failed cuz: 1. I don’t have a party to attend 2. I will be in Penang :(
