5 things I wanna comment on tonight:

1. Astro HD, step in the right direction. Football in HD = win. But does the RM 20+ premium justify 2 extra HD sports channels? And don’t get me started on the rain fade issue.

2. Wow, 25 points for Winner of a Formula 1 grand prix race. Very nice, but will it screw things up? Nice to see many cars on the grid. Wow, this time, I think I’ll go with the Hamilton-Button british team! Mmmm…

3. Nice to meet the OUG CG of 2006 again, after such a long time. It was truly heart warming.

4. It would be nice if we can make a trip to Genting or Penang in the next 10 days! Anyone up for a trip?

5. On a short term, low key thing, how about a bowling or cycling trip (Bkt Cahaya, Shah Alam)? Or, even Go-kart?

Oh, and went to Taylor’s lakeside with Patrick. Discovered the wonders of the Machine they call an iMac. The iChat feature was awsm.

Most people like to be reaffirmed that they’re good. Rub their shoulders and they’ll do anything for you (favour lah). As children, yes I can understand the need to tell you what’s right / wrong, what you could do better. But past your teenage years, do we still need positive reaffirmation?

Lets say your friend tells you something negative about your character, or the girl you like for example. Do you take it to heart? Why? Would you be disappointed or angered? Do you feel a need to confront, or would you ignore, or avoid this issue / comment?

One trivia fun fact / sidenote: I am sure she won’t like 90% of July’s phailed mix. haha.. :P

As you no doubt heard last night, the whole Facebook vanity URL grab thing was big. Within seven minutes of the service being available last night, 345,000 users grabbed one. Within 15 minutes, over a half million had, Facebook spokesperson Larry Yu told Bloomberg. But who got the best one.

The best one I’ve seen by far, was grabbed by Christine Shipley of San Francisco. Rather than go for facebook.com/christine.shipley or even facebook.com/shipley, she went with facebook.com/default.aspx. Yes, her name could easily be confused as the default landing page for Facebook. (Though, savvy users will know that the site is actually built in PHP, and not ASP, which the .aspx extension suggests).

On top of that, imagine the FREE publicity they’re getting for a mere RM 3500. Blog readers are on average having more spending power than non-online savvy people. They’re also easily influenced and believe almost anything they read online even if its half truths.

F. REVVING up their machines, they burn rubber as they tear down the roads of Malaysia. These are illegal racers who occasionally duel with each other for glory.

We gotta read international media to know about the shit happening in Malaysia. We get a different perspective on the real issues going on around us. We are blessed because unlike China, the InterWeb is not censored or monitored. Instead of reading thestar.com.my or malaysiakini.com , we should look at WSJ.com or Google News which links to hundreds of overseas news agencies. Rempit FTW.

G. Swine Flu (H1N1)

We’re at level 5 now (out of 6) so its pretty serious. Anyway, according to Patrick, we should be worried cuz the virus dies at 70C. Even if we don’t die from this flu, we’ll still be kaput in 2012 (oh no, here i go again, I’m out of my medicine!)

The only thing that can sway me right now is that if Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard is compatible with normal Intel-PCs without having to apply some leet hacks. If Apple makes its OS available, Windows would have to do something radicle. But at the moment, I feel MS will still have its slender lead (ok, a big one lah) but Apple will be chipping off their market share.

Super late 03 May update: I included Kevin Federline’s – Lose Control in my May 09 Mix. Luci @ Celebrity Fitness keep playing it, and although the reviews say it sucks big time (and Kevin being an epic phailure being a riprapper hip hopper). GOOGLE CHROME SUCKS!

Yes, its fast. But its too buggy (at least on my Win XP configuration) and crashed often. I try upload on WordPress, with Shockwave, walau, super painful experience and time wasted. I’ll give it another 12 months lah. Meanwhile, I’m back with FIREFOX ver. 3 .. and the nice extensions like DownTheMall and FireFTP. everything just works.

Off to Ban Huat with Lukas, Yap and Bernard. Nice cheap food in middle of nowhere :)

In the class, I saw a dude with a Lance Armstrong jersey. Damn gaya weh :) But you need a nice body so it would look gorgeous. I got blobs of fats, so.. maybe a years time lah, ok? Here’s how it looks like:

I wasn’t comfortable with the bikes. I think I have big butts, so it kept poking the muscular areas as well as my bones. After 16 hours, I’m feeling the after-effects. Dammit. Maybe I need to get used to it lah.

There’s uphill, downhill, walking-pace, sprint, slow sections, varying resistance. Hahaha.. I kinda cheated when the instructor said “turn up one level, two levels, three levels”. He meant resistance, which would mean having to paddle harder. He can actually see that we’re cheating if we didn’t crank it up. LOL!

Its almost 10:00am. Time for Networking Fundamentals class with Ms. Hiap. She’s awesome, but as with all IT subjects, what is mostly taught is slightly outdated. Later today, bowling at 4pm, Sunway Pyramid.

Then tomorrow 9am meeting with our Student Council sponsor. And Sunday, Paroimia Part 2 with Kate, maybe Cain and Melyvn as well. Got 2 assignments to complete in 14 days, so we’ll keep that in mind too before making plans for crazy visits to crazy places :P

When they said Man Utd had the easiest draw of the group, I agreed. But I told YW, “Yes, but we’ll be meeting the toughest opponent in the semifinals in Arsenal”. I was right.

I had a dream. No, not Martin Luther King sorta dream, but rather a weird and unconventional one. I was involved in a situation where I had to make a decision, and I backed down instead of following through. Was I easily swayed, or can we call it a rational move? I like it when a well-timed-aggression move pays off. Which reminds me:

We had a conference last night with Bob. I think there were 5-6 participants, and Skype technology was used. It performed well but it could be better.

Taylors Engineering Fair on Friday 8am-5pm. 30 over projects, probably 5 will be monetised. It would be fun if two parties [sic investors] were bidding for the same project. Hmmmm…. maybe I should make that happen! :P
