After hitting 20,000 steps walked in a single day, the Charity Run at work was fun and memorable. It is in an effort to raise funds for children with cancer and needy children with medical conditions in rural communities. Although I wasn’t running, I was helping out with the logistics and the PA System there. Two days of waking up at 4:00am took it’s toll. In the end, being a facilitator to help raise funds for children with illnesses, is a good thing. It is nice to see when people congregate and come together for a cause. Well, anything off work, is a good change.
Back home, dad’s off to India. He didn’t take me this time, this being an old people’s guided tour thing. Hope his legs hold up as dad is suffering from knee and joint pains. Otherwise he will be sitting in the tour van while the rest of the tour group wander around Kashmir. My 73 year old dad will be limited in his mobility and ability to travel; so this year is probably a push to do as much as he possibly can!
For me, I plan to see through 2018 with less drama as possible. I think music events and comedy shows will calm me down and make my mind less stressed. Come to think of it, work has been relatively kind to me. Let’s hope the remainder 10 months will stay that way. Some say I should look for a challenge; maybe I’ll take small steps in starting some online business. Freelance work is huge; being an Uber / Grab driver or doing computer work for people can be fulfilling. But it’s hard to pay the bills solely off these odd jobs.
If bowling was an exercise, I would be slim and fit! Alas, it’s merely a game of hand-eye coordination and luck. If you’re up for it in the Bukit Mertajam, Kulim or Penang island areas, give me a buzz and we will bowl!
March is also wedding month. It would be fun to reunite with old friends from the KL college days and relatives who live in the same village but whom we seldom meet. It’s nice seeing friends succeed in business, work and relationships. As I crawl through this journey called life, hopefully the year of the Dog brings me some luck. Some things are just out of our hands; so let there be good luck!
As my Brazilian dance instructor, Luciano de Jesus once exclaimed: PORRA!
