Life is Such – May 2024 letter to the audience

Many great people have letters associated with their names – like Paul in the Bible, Bill Gates, and Warren Buffett.

In February 2023, I left my position as IT Support at UST. Transitioning into a new chapter, I became a student again, studying for a Tourism Guide license late last year. The results are expected to be out by mid-June. Throughout this journey, I met new friends including Grab drivers, seasoned pros in the tourism industry, and fantastic trainers who taught us how to prepare thoroughly.

Unfortunately, there’s a high chance I might fail (stay tuned for my June 2024 letter).

But never mind, it’s May now, and I am currently working as a Customer Success Specialist at Teleperformance. The work environment is positive, and the support system is comprehensive. Driving to work during my 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm shift is a breeze. I’m used to getting stuck in traffic for 1.5 to 2 hours on a bad day, but now the drive is a pleasant 35 minutes on empty streets!

In case you didn’t know, I am active on Instagram (@philipkhor) and TikTok (@philipkhor). If you’re still reading, congratulations – there’s a prize waiting for you. Claim it by emailing pip@philipkhor.com with your name and one memory you recall of me (an experience we had as friends).

Dad is doing well; he’s almost 80 years old now. We often go out and buy food from the Chap Fan (economy mixed rice) stall. He’s amazing! He does the housework, laundry, and is fully capable of taking care of himself. Please pray for my dad’s continued good health, thank you.

As for my weight, I am currently 107 kg. I exercise by walking 4.4 km on a trail just outside my house. This is one of the reasons I love living in the village. Another reason is that I simply cannot afford the RM 700 room rental for apartments near my office. I’d rather pay for gas and drive 100 km a day (both ways). This arrangement allows me to spend quality time with my dad while he’s still here.

At the time of writing, I’m about to watch the movie “How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies.” I watch only a handful of movies in the cinema each year because I feel dizzy in theaters. Another movie I am looking forward to is “Inside Out 2” by Pixar/Disney. Do you see a pattern in the types of movies I choose? My colleague suggested I watch “Dead Poet’s Society (1989),” and I responded by asking if she had seen the romantic comedy “When Harry Met Sally (1989).” By the way, wasn’t Taylor Swift born that year too?

I recently acquired a CCTV IP Camera that can connect to your WiFi and monitor your house. If you’re interested in having it, contact me via email at pip@philipkhor.com and I’ll gift it to you.

Once again, keep an eye out for my vlogs (video updates) on Instagram Reels and TikTok. You have been awesome, thank you for reading.
